Your home should feel like no one else but you.
Quintessential Living is a Vancouver interior design studio creating complete home transformations rooted in self-expression, wellbeing, and the art of living. Your routines, relationships, travels, collections, and even the smallest things that bring you joy become the starting point for a home that looks, feels, and lives like you.
Linda Lam
FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
Linda’s path to interior design began long before it became her career. Growing up, she was always creating: sewing clothes, drawing, rearranging spaces, and finding ways to express herself through the world around her.
But her first career took her somewhere entirely different. Linda became a Registered Nurse and spent four years caring for patients while pursuing interior design on the side. It wasn’t until she began designing and decorating her own first condo that something clicked. The creativity she had always been drawn to suddenly had a purpose, and she knew she had found the work she was meant to do.
Linda studied Interior Design at BCIT before building an unusually varied career in the industry. She managed million-dollar procurement budgets for luxury hotels in Vancouver and London, then spent 5 years designing multi-family and show homes for another design firm before founding Quintessential Living in 2021.
Today, these experiences give Linda both the creative range and professional leadership to take a client’s individual taste and turn it into an entire home. And her unique edge — a piece of her first career that has never left — Linda’s genuine instinct and caring for people. It’s the warmth you’ll feel during the Quintessential Living experience, as you and your home are completely looked after from beginning to end.
“From beginning to end, Linda was a true professional with timely responses, clear timelines and deliverables, and a transparent budget. As the cherry on top, she even scheduled a professional photo shoot with an ‘unboxing’ video that captured our raw emotions when we stepped into our dream home for the first time. It is a moment we will forever cherish!”

"A true professional."
What makes the Quintessential Living design experience different?
YOUr home’s DESIGN STYLE BEGINS WITH YOU.
Completing a home involves hundreds of interconnected decisions, and you won’t have to manage any of them yourself. Linda’s experience directing significant project investments and cross-team implementation means that you get to stay hands-off, enjoy the fun parts (like your design presentation), and watch your home take shape in the hands of a seasoned expert who has your best interests at heart.
YOUR interiors will CHANGE HOW YOU LIVE.
You won’t find a signature look inside our portfolio because our starting point is always you. You may not know your style (or maybe you do), but your tastes, travels, artwork, favourite colours, meaningful pieces, and the way you want to feel at home become clues Linda uses to create a wholly original design for you. Coming home will feel like stepping into your truest self — and feeling inspired to live the way you’ve always wanted to.
YOU get to hand over all the details.
A beautiful room is only the beginning. Linda considers the minute details that go into how you live and feel at home: where you naturally settle with your coffee, how and when your family gathers, what catches your eye or lifts your energy as you move through your home. Those individual decisions add up to spaces that support your relationships, your physical and emotional wellbeing, and above all, your fullest life, at home and beyond.
